Step By Step Registration Instructions
Invite, Accept, or Youth Protection Program Screen Coaches”
Congratulations! You’ve started the process of creating a FIRST® Tech Challenge team for the 2016/2017 season. The next step is identifying coaches who will help organize your team, letting students experience all the fun and excitement of FIRST. You will need a total of two coaches for each team.
All you really need to be a great coach is the desire to help students experience the fun and excitement of hands-on STEM involvement. FIRST®Tech Challenge is a student driven program where coaches point the way, provide support and encouragement, and allow the magic to happen.
Take the next step and identify those people who will help your students experience the fun and excitement of FIRST® Tech Challenge.
If you need to invite a coach to your team:
2) Select the team in need of coaches and click on “Manage Team Contacts/Roster”
3) Click “Invite Contacts”
4) Select “Mentor” from the drop-down menu for the “Contact Type” and input the person’s name and email address and select “Invite Contacts”.
5) Your invited coach will received an email notifying them of the invite and will need to create and account and/or log into the dashboard to accept the invitation and complete the “Youth Protection Program” process.
If you’ve already invited someone to coach your team, be sure they log into the team dashboard and accept the invitation.
1) Have the coach log into their team dashboard at https://my.firstinspires.org/Dashboard/. If they do not have an account at firstinspires.org, they will need to create one using their email address you used to invite them to the team.
2) Select “My Invitations”
3) Click on the “Invitation Arrow”
4) Accept the invitation
5) Complete the “Youth Protection Program” process.
If a coach needs to complete the Youth Protection Program:
2) Select Youth Protection Program under “Outstanding Tasks” on the left side of the Dashboard:
3) Complete Youth Protection Program screening process. Results should be available to the coach in 1-5 business days.
Not in the Storefront, Not Checked out, or Order Not Shipped
Congratulations! You have completed all the steps necessary to create your 2016/2017 FIRST® Tech Challenge team. All that is left is to register your team and order the necessary equipment. Follow these simple steps to register your team:
2) Click through to storefront to place your order for registration and product. If you have multiple teams, you will need to select the team you wish to register before proceeding to the Storefront.
3) Once in the Storefront, agree to the Storefront Terms and Conditions by selecting the checkbox on the Welcome Screen.
4) The 2016/2017 FIRST® Tech Challenge registration will automatically be loaded into your cart.
5) Select “Checkout”
6) Enter your payment information and select “Submit Order”
A few notes:
- If you are expecting a grant through your FIRST® Tech Challenge account, do not submit your order until your grant funds appear in the Storefront. If you are unsure how your grant funds will be allocated, please check with the entity supplying the grant before submitting orders in the storefront.
- If you are paying for your order via a purchase order, be sure to send a copy of the purchase order to Pitsco, as instructed when checking out.
- If your purchase is exempt from the United States states sale tax, be sure to send a copy of your certificate to Pitsco, as instructed when checking out.
