Calling All Beta Testers!

Intelitek invites FIRST® Tech Challenge participants to be part of the beta launch of Coderz, an engaging online learning environment for robotics



Coderz is an innovative, web-based platform for robotics education that serves as an ideal tool for anyone interested in a highly engaging and motivating robotics programming environment. Coderz is appropriate for beginners, as well as advanced programmers as it can be used with an intuitive GUI for Blockly and Java coding.

FIRST® is working together with Intelitek to provide programming software for the Android, Qualcomm SnapDragon, called Coderz.

Coderz is not yet an approved competition option and works only in autonomous control. We see FIRST® teams as a major part of our evolving Coderz community, which is why we would like to give 250 FIRST® members from across the U.S. the opportunity to be the first to experience the Coderz platform, helping to make this program the best it can be for our FIRST® teams. Whether you are a novice or an advanced programmer, your input is very important.

Benefits to beta testers:
·         Integrated 3D simulation so you can test your code on a virtual TETRIX® PushBot.
·         The Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ control system so you can download your code onto the real robot.
·         Beta participants will receive a free 12 month subscription to Coderz for FIRST® Tech Challenge.

Over the course of two weeks, beta testers will be able to take on various exciting challenges using Coderz, all while having video tutorials to guide them through the testing process.

When will I get challenges?
Don't worry! Coderz has it all covered- you'll receive emails with your challenges during the beta testing phase.

How do I give feedback? Will there be a survey?
Just find the feedback icon and let us know what you think. If you have any questions or feedbacks don't hesitate to contact us at feedback@intelitek.com. At the end of the beta testing phase, we'll send you a survey about your overall experience--so stay tuned.

GAME HINT and FIRST Tech Challenge 2016-2017 Season Field Pre-Order Information

AndyMark will start accepting Team pre-orders for the 2016-2017 field sets beginning on 7/1/2016! All team shipments will be sent out on 9/9/2016. There will not be Saturday deliveries. For orders to ship by 9/9/2016 they must be placed with AndyMark and processed by 8/26/2016.  2016-2017 Beacons FIRST Tech Challenge is excited to announce that for the 2016-2017 seasons’ game, we will be reusing the RES-Q℠ Beacon. The beacon will function differently than it had for the FIRST RES-Q℠ game, and there will be a total of four Beacons on each field instead of just two. Teams do not have to purchase brand new beacons, they will be able to reuse Beacons purchased from last season. The Beacons used last season will need to be reprogrammed with the 2016-2017 game’s software for those Teams that would like to reuse their already purchased beacons. FIRST Tech Challenge World Championship Waitlist F.A.Q.

Why has FIRST Tech Challenge added a waitlist component to the World Championship? In April of 2016, FIRST announced the addition of a second FIRST Championship. We did this so that we could make the life-changing excitement and inspiration of the FIRST Championship more accessible, available, and affordable to more kids and teams. This decision doubled the number of spots available for FIRST Tech Challenge teams at the World Championship, and created some interesting opportunities for advancement. Our FIRST Tech Challenge Super-Regionals were instituted over three years ago to address the growing number of Regional Championships, and the relatively smaller number of teams advancing to the next level. It solved that problem with great success as we head into year four of the Super-Regional format.
